What AAM will report.

Success is measured by meaningful improvements in patients’ access to appropriate medical care — not by volume alone.

Not yet reporting

AAM is in its foundation phase and has not yet funded patient treatments. Indicators below describe what will be reported from the first programs. No figures are shown until real results exist.

Indicators

Three families of indicators

Patient level

  • Number of patients assessed
  • Number of patients approved
  • Number of patients receiving treatment
  • Amount of financial assistance provided
  • Average time between application and treatment
  • Number of patients accessing previously unavailable specialized care
  • Continuity of care and follow-up completion
  • Patient-reported experience

Medical access

  • Number of partner hospitals
  • Number of specialized medical professionals involved
  • Number of international referral pathways
  • Number of treatment programs established
  • Number of countries served

Financial

  • Total funds raised
  • Percentage allocated to patient assistance
  • Administrative and operational expenditure
  • Average cost per patient pathway
  • Co-financing generated through partnerships
  • Financial audit results
Method

Measuring honestly

  • AAM distinguishes between treatments facilitated by the organization and medical outcomes caused by the treatment itself.
  • Clinical outcomes are evaluated by appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Follow-up takes place with informed consent.
  • Evaluation uses aggregated and appropriately anonymized information.
  • Long-term, AAM examines whether its work produces sustainable improvements in access to complex medical care.
Reporting

How and when AAM reports

AAM intends to maintain a high level of transparency.

The first patient programs lead to initial published impact reports.

  2. Annual impact reports

Patient-level and medical access indicators, in aggregated form.

  3. Financial transparency reports

Funds raised, the allocation to patient assistance, administrative expenditure and audit results.

  4. Public updates

Updates on funded programs and partnership announcements; patient stories only with informed consent.
