Consent
Appropriate patient consent or legal representation is required, and patients are informed at every stage.
The patient journey is AAM’s central operational process. Every stage is documented, and the final treatment decision always stays between the patient and qualified clinicians.
AAM identifies potential beneficiaries through several channels.
Particular attention goes to patients who lack the resources, information or institutional connections to seek specialized care on their own.
Applicants submit the information needed to understand their medical and financial situation. A confidential patient file is created, with consent and in line with data-protection requirements.
Applicants receive information about the process, the expected documentation and possible timelines.
Qualified, independent medical professionals review the application.
AAM does not independently diagnose patients or prescribe treatments.
AAM identifies appropriate healthcare providers — specialized and university hospitals, specialist clinics, research hospitals, accredited diagnostic centers — and coordinates a realistic pathway.
The final treatment decision remains between the patient and qualified healthcare professionals.
AAM evaluates the financial resources needed to make the treatment accessible and documents its commitment, with payment controls.
Whenever possible, payments are made directly to verified medical institutions or service providers rather than through unrestricted transfers to individual applicants.
Once the pathway and funding are approved, AAM supports the patient throughout.
AAM does not interfere with clinical decisions.
After treatment, and with informed consent, AAM follows the patient’s pathway where appropriate.
AAM uses aggregated and appropriately anonymized information to evaluate its impact.
